Sustainable Pepper Farming in Cambodia
For my 10th volunteering experience in Asia, my two friends and I spent two weeks in Cambodia, learning about pepper cultivation and sustainable business practices while supporting local communities.
We worked alongside local farmers, participating in every step of the process, from planting to packaging. This hands-on experience gave us a deep understanding of what it takes to produce high-quality pepper, and we explored sustainable practices that benefit both the environment and the local people.
A highlight of our trip was celebrating the Khmer New Year with the locals, which enriched our cultural experience and strengthened our connection with the community.
Using the knowledge we gained, we produced a comprehensive video that showcases the entire pepper production process and emphasizes the importance of ethical business practices.
Overall, this project combined my passion for volunteering with sustainability, leaving us with valuable insights and meaningful connections that support both the land and the community.
