Women’s Empowerment Project, India 2024

I had the honor of collaborating on a project in India that supports women’s rights and promotes independence. In a country where a woman is raped every 15 minutes and many marriages are still arranged, the project aims to create sustainable employment opportunities for women, empowering them both economically and socially. The founder, whom I worked closely with, also organizes events for women to foster community and solidarity.

In addition to my involvement in documenting the project through photography and videography, I also worked on creating the website and developing a new visual identity to better represent the initiative. Through the website, people can find various ways to support the project and contribute to its mission.

One of the highlights of my involvement was celebrating Diwali, a major Hindu festival symbolizing the victory of light over darkness. During this celebration, I had the privilege of documenting a traditional PUJA ceremony, women also create decorative designs with colored powders. At the end of the event, we distributed some groceries.

This project not only provides work but also promotes environmental sustainability, making a meaningful impact on both women and the planet.
